Terms of use

These Terms govern access to jobumi.com, app.jobumi.com, the Jobumi mobile applications, and the related services made available by Jobumi.

Last updated: August 10, 2026

1. Acceptance and scope

By creating an account, accessing, or using Jobumi, you agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Additional written terms may apply to a future paid or specialized service. They will be presented before that service is activated and will prevail only for the subject they address.

2. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into these Terms. If you use Jobumi for an employer or another organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind and act for that organization.

3. Accounts and security

Provide accurate information, keep it current, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Do not share authentication codes, impersonate another person, create deceptive identities, or use an account after your authority for an organization has ended.

4. Jobumi’s role

Jobumi provides technology for publishing profiles and jobs, submitting and reviewing applications, communicating, and organizing recruitment activity. Jobumi is not the employer, employee, employment agency, or representative of either party in a hiring relationship.

Jobumi does not guarantee that a profile will be viewed, an application will receive a response, a candidate will be hired, a job will remain available, or information supplied by another user will be accurate.

5. Candidate responsibilities

Candidate information, qualifications, availability, work authorization statements, and application answers must be truthful and must not mislead employers. Only upload content you are entitled to use and share.

Review the information attached to an application before submitting it. Withdrawing an application limits continued access through Jobumi, but an employer may have independent legal obligations or records outside Jobumi.

6. Employer and organization responsibilities

Employers must publish genuine, lawful opportunities; describe material conditions accurately; restrict candidate information to authorized personnel; and comply with employment, human rights, privacy, language, consumer, and anti-discrimination laws.

Organization owners control membership and roles. Each organization is responsible for activity performed by its members and for its independent handling of candidate information obtained through or exported from Jobumi.

7. Video and other user content

You retain ownership of content you create. You grant Jobumi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, encode, reproduce, adapt for technical formats, transmit, display, and make that content available only as needed to operate, secure, promote within the service, and improve the features you use.

You confirm that people appearing or speaking in your content have given the permissions required for the intended publication. Do not upload confidential material, unlawful discrimination, harassment, threats, sexual exploitation, malware, or content that infringes privacy or intellectual-property rights.

8. Applications, snapshots, and communications

When you apply, Jobumi may create a snapshot of the profile information submitted so the employer can review the application consistently. Candidate and employer users may exchange hiring or support messages through integrated communication services.

Do not use contact information or messages for unrelated solicitation, resale, harassment, surveillance, or any purpose incompatible with recruitment and support.

9. Matching and artificial intelligence

Jobumi may parse résumés, generate search terms, organize information, and suggest potentially relevant profiles or jobs. These outputs can be incomplete or incorrect and must be reviewed by a person.

Jobumi does not make a solely automated employment decision. Employers remain responsible for their criteria, assessments, decisions, notices, and legal obligations.

10. Acceptable use

You must not interfere with the service or use it to harm Jobumi, its users, or third parties.

  • Do not scrape, harvest, index, copy, reverse engineer, probe, or automate access except through an expressly authorized interface.
  • Do not bypass access controls, rate limits, visibility settings, content restrictions, or security measures.
  • Do not upload malicious code, overload infrastructure, test vulnerabilities without written permission, or use Jobumi for spam or unlawful monitoring.

11. Moderation, suspension, and termination

Jobumi may investigate, restrict, remove, preserve, or disclose content and may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, respond to legal process, address security risks, or prevent harm.

You may stop using Jobumi and request account deletion through available account controls. Provisions that must reasonably survive—such as licences already exercised, payment obligations if later introduced, dispute terms, and liability limits—continue after termination.

12. Third-party services

Jobumi relies on third-party identity, communications, email, analytics, app-store, media, and infrastructure providers. Their services may have separate terms. Jobumi is not responsible for a third-party site or service beyond the responsibility imposed by applicable law.

13. Intellectual property

The Jobumi service, software, designs, trademarks, and materials supplied by Jobumi are owned by Jobumi or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership. You may not use Jobumi branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission.

14. Service availability and disclaimers

Jobumi may change, interrupt, or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an ‘as available’ basis without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular hiring outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or protection that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable Québec consumer protections.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Jobumi is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-opportunity damages arising from another user, hiring decision, unavailable service, or unauthorized third-party conduct. Any enforceable limitation will be interpreted as narrowly as required by applicable law.

16. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting mandatory rights available in another jurisdiction. Courts with jurisdiction in Montréal, Québec may hear disputes unless applicable law requires another forum.

We may update these Terms and will publish the new date and provide additional notice when a change is material. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only where permitted by law.
